The global business unit Biopolymers has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales of the certified compostable polymers ecoflex® and ecovio®. Part of the business is actively working on market development of new technologies and products in the field of certified compostable and soil-biodegradable polymers and thereby helping to transform innovations into successful market products.
Key Persons and Expertise
Dr. Jens Hamprecht, Global Market Development Biopolymers, is especially interested in the development of a circular economy. As a former Vice President of the European Bioplastics Association he has set up several associations worldwide promoting zero waste and biodegradable plastics. He will be supported by Dr. Katharina Schlegel, is a microbiologist with several years of experience in polymer biodegradability research and is now responsible for Market Development Biopolymers Europe. BASF will co-organize the workshop “Innovation and entrepreneurship”.
