Merhaba,

I am Aybüke and I am from Ankara, Turkey. For my PhD studies under LimnoPlast, I moved to Oberhausen, Germany and started working in Fraunhofer UMSICHT in September 2020.

My research in LimnoPlast is socio-ecological assessment of microplastics. For this reason, I am planning look into microplastics problem from a holistic point-of-view. I want to combine the knowledge about sources, fate and sinks of MPs to evaluate impacts of them. I will use my results to recommend intervention points including from behaviour aspect to policy recommendations for mitigation measures. In LimnoPlast, I especially like how our researchers tackle MPs issue from different angles and how they are connected with each other. I am very excited overall about the project and particularly about the results that we will put forward as a team.

Because of previous studies and personal life, I lived in different countries and called home to many places. Now I am calling Germany to my home, and I cannot wait to visit more places & learn more about the culture in here.
