In this interactive online seminar series, we take a closer look at the wicked problem of plastic pollution and microplastics. Our speakers are experts in plastic pollution and have diverse backgrounds in academia, policy making, civil society and beyond. They provide unique perspectives on the causes and impacts of the problem and discuss solutions.

About the speaker:
Bernhard Bauske studied Biology in Hamburg until he received his Ph.D. in 1994 at the institute of soil science in Hamburg. Since 1993 he has been working at the international NGO for Nature Conservation, WWF Germany. A major part of his work was developing solutions for urgent environmental issues in conversation with the corporate sector. His work was focused on packaging and waste management. Nowadays he works at the department of marine protection at the WWF Germany, where he is project coordinator for activities concerning the input of plastic waste into the ocean.
