In this interactive online seminar series, we take a closer look at the wicked problem of plastic pollution and microplastics. Our speakers are experts in plastic pollution and have diverse backgrounds in academia, policy making, civil society and beyond. They provide unique perspectives on the causes and impacts of the problem and discuss solutions.

About the speaker:
Kai Purnhagen is a Professor of Food Law at the University of Bayreuth, Campus Kulmbach. Holding the first professorship in food law in Germany. He heads the Chair of Food Law and is Director of the Research Unit on German and European Food Law. His works concern EU Law, International Economic Law and the interdisciplinary analysis of law. He is currently working  on law and regulation of food innovation, the legal impacts of the EU’s farm to fork strategy and risk/benefit regulation.
