About the speaker:
Richard Thompson OBE is a world-renowned authority on marine litter and microplastics who coined the term microplastic in his 2004 paper in Science. As Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Plymouth, the main focus of his research is on accumulation and impacts of Marine Litter. He advises on national and international policy.
