About
Patrik Stenner is more than 20 years at Evonik. After his study of process engineering he started working at Evonik in the research department for electrochemistry. As a project manager, he worked on different projects, e.g., fuelcells, electrochemical chlorine reduction and gas diffusion electrodes. After 8 years he changed to the department Process Technology & Infrastructure into the specialized unit particle technology as the head of the group “Exploration & Electrochemistry” with 10 employees. The interdisciplinary group works on different subjects concerning particle technology and electrochemistry. In 2016, the team won the German sustainability award in the category research for the development of „a high throughput process for thermoelectric modules“.
Supervisor II – Yikalo Tecle
@ Yikalo Tecle
Yikalo Tecle joined Evonik in 2016 after graduating with a master’s degree in chemistry and bioengineering at the University Erlangen-Nürnberg. During his study, he had his first contact with Evonik through an internship and was able to write his master thesis at Evonik regarding purification of polymer dispersions. Afterwards he started his career in the group of Patrik Stenner at the department of particle processing as a process engineer.
Supervisor III – Nicolas Vogel
@ Nicolas Vogel
Prof. Nicolas Vogel is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and will co-supervise the ESR together with Patrik Stenner from Evonik. Nicolas is a chemist by training with an broad interest in colloid and interface sciences and soft matter. His group combines a fundamental understanding colloidal particles and the physics of self-assembly processes with an interest in the emergent properties of structured materials, focusing on light-matter interactions and controlling the substrate wettability.
