Microplastics (MPs) is an emerging pollutant in urban wastewater. Combined sewer overflows (CSOs) act as an important pathway that transports MPs from urban areas into surrounding water bodies. Resuspension of sewer sediments inside the sewer network is expected to contribute significantly to the MP level in CSOs.
